A familiar face in the culinary arts, Chef James Ungs brings a diverse career to the table.
Formally educated in the Elgin CC, ACF Accredited Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management programs, James’ many roles include Executive Chef, Catering Director, Club Management, F&B Director, and Restaurant Proprietor.
James’ epicurean journey and appreciation for food was founded in his 3 generation Iowa, family of 8. As a Chef, he loves the playground of the“Seasons and Regions” and enjoys the rich and deep European culture of local Artisans and Farmers. Enlivened by the melting-pot, cultural and ethnic diversity of ingredients and cuisine in Madison and Chicago.
Early on, James learned there was a “Reason for every Season”… gardening, foraging, hunting and nurturing. He grew up as a good steward to Mother Earth, understanding what she could provide in life lessons and sustenance.
